Flaming fronts from stripping ignitions converge at the Mukwonago River Oak Barrens on 11/13/25.
The entire foreground burned on 11/13. This shot was taken 11/17. Because this is not a productive site and it was burned last year, intensity was low, leaving even the seed heads of gray goldenrod unburned.
It is the ecological and ritual season of burning. The most salubrious time to burn. Coarse stems--even seeds--stand. Terricolous lichens and bryophytes survive. Larvae rest cosy in their galls. The stage is set for next season's abundance. #Prairie #Savanna #RxFire #MukwonagoRiverOakBarrens

Nice burns at Wilder Ranch State Park today! They did a great job building heat on this unit by lighting upper and lower slope to bring two flaming fronts together. Objectives include killing/limiting coyote brush and maintaining grasslands. #RxFire

Por descontado, también hay fuegos agricolas fuera de la temporada legal (aunque también se suelen evitar los días de más riesgo, pero tampoco siempre) y algunas veces también vemos grandes incendios forestales en marzo. Por eso es mucho mejor dejarlo a profesionales #RXfire
Durante los meses de invierno, y siempre bajo una estricta vigilancia (que los diferencia del incendios de origen agrícola y ganadero), se suele recurrir a "quemas prescritas" #RXfire como una forma de gestión del monte, que además casa muy bien con el monte mediterráneo (adaptado al fuego).
