Advocated super hard for a placement for big that she could safely travel to (after months of coaching from me), and succeeded! Day 1 today, in the middle of which I realised she’s actually never done the journey in the dark. Cue mad dash to meet her to supervise #SENDParenting #autism #quirkylife

First day of biggest on an intern program for adults with learning disabilities. Which obviously means I have been her travel buddy because they didn’t realise a lot of YA with extra needs can’t travel independently without months of prep for the location. #SENDparenting #ND

Sometimes helping a family with therapeutic parenting involves helping to gather up formal & informal support. Supporting to request an EHC needs assessment - a primary child accessing informal support that won’t be available in secondary.
