I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL for all the support and help I get from my testers, reviewing and sewing my patterns to make sure they are grammatically correct, the “lefts” and the “rights” haven’t been messed up, photos and diagrams are in the right place, SVG files work for them. Seriously never trust a pattern that hasn’t had testers, because we are all human! The Tessa II Bag is a refresh of pattern I created years ago. Now it has TWO sizes bundled in the pattern, one Tablet sized and one Cell phone sized.

#memadeMay2025 Every May @sozoblog, and on Instagram here, invites sewists to challenge themselves in some way. Some choose to post a photo of themselves every day with a complete head to toe #memade outfit. Some choose to sew only from their stash. The possibilities are endless! I haven't signed myself up for a few years now. It was actually easier when I was working because I sewed and wore lots of office wear: suits, dresses, skirts, tops, pants… You name it, I probably sewed and wore it! 🤣 After I retired, I didn’t need a lot of office wear, so I donated most of mine to a Women’s Shelter.

What does a retired person, like me, sew? Mostly casual, everyday wear. These are my usual #memadeMay sewing challenge clothes. #sewingthreads #sewing

Designin’ December Sewing Challenge 2024 – My Make Ok, I confess, I missed the #designinDecember sewing challenge deadline, but I am super happy with my new jacket! So many interruptions and such a delay in getting proper photos! I love that loaded it with topstitching though ... I'm thinking I might have even been able to get more topstitching on it! For the #designinDecember sewing challenge, I hacked a McCalls Pattern M6657 to include colour blocking and topstitching, similar to what you can see in my inspiration "Designer Photo" on the left, a Fendi Fall 2024 RTW. Image a zipper being sewn into a dress.

Last night I got a panicked phone call from a mum whose kid is in my son’s class. School musical starts this week & dress rehearsal was yesterday. The school had not told her that the dress needed back access for the microphone. Guess what I am doing today? Emergency zipper install!

Very strange! I ordered a 24” plastic quilting ruler online and they sent it to me in a 20” box, bent to fit. I’ve got it under some books to make it flat again. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 #SewingThreads
