2nd calendar yr Mediterranean Gull, with full crop from begging scraps off daytrippers. (Sheerness, Kent.)
Adult Mediterranean gull in flight. At this time of year, immature birds and unpaired adults often 'doss' for a few weeks, on the coast but remaining relatively close to breeding colonies (the Medway islands, some four miles or so away, as the seagull flies, some six miles from the Swale colonies, as the overland gull might fly).
Adult coming in to make a grab at crumbs being thrown to the feral pigeons on Sheerness prom. Seagulls have no class.
Adult Med gull making off w. something round (and unappetising to any prospective partner) mugged from a beachgoer. They'll take whatever they can, they have no shame whatsoever.
Fled to the seaside. Lunch on the prom. A bit cooler, but still it all felt rather Mediterranean...
