The textures in this Bitterblossom by Jesper Rjsing are so interesting. With legs that appear to be like that of a grasshopper and frog like feet, it’s such a different take on a faerie than I’ve seen before. The colors are entrancing & unexpected on a black card but welcome nonetheless.

There’s a lot of works that reference Hokusai’s Great Wave but I’m unsure if Svetlin Velinov’s Subtlety is one of them. Regardless, it’s hard not to think some inspiration was drawn from the wave’s tendrils. Either way, it’s always a welcome sight in the hand

One of my favorite cards to see when playing Zaxara is Hydroid Krasis by Jason Felix. It’s got art that reminds me of the hydra fight in Hercules, can set up the win condition on its own and is a threat. It’s a real toolbox card.
