For anyone curious, he used an #EquatorialMount (a #StarTracker) for this shot.
It slowly rotates to match Earth’s rotation, so the stars stay sharp during long exposures and the Milky Way detail can really come through. 🌌📷

The arch of the Milky Way is just rising above the horizon, and just over the silhouetted island of Tenerife, the peak of which is Mount Teide. The sky around the island is a gentle orange from light pollution.
