In October, despite objections the county put a six month moratorium on the issuance of permits related to the operation of community solar garden, wind power generation, data center and battery storage system facilities. The purpose of the moratorium was to allow the county to develop regulations for data centers and battery storage facilities since they don't yet have any regs for those, and to revise its regs for solar and wind projects. The commissioners said it wouldn't necessarily take them six months and promised to lift the moratorium for each area as soon as regulations for each are adopted.
