The Federal Reserve is accepting public comments about a proposed rule to remove "reputation risk" from their supervisory programs.

I can understand wanting to discourage sexual fiction involving rape, children, incest or animals. However the way you are doing it is wrong and harms adult content developers and artists. Countless erotic games and zines that do not feature these things have been taken off Steam and Itch.io due to your content restrictions. I believe this is because whether or not a fictional situation is consensual or not is subjective, and in many cases the same content can be painted as either consensual or non-consensual. Because of this, consensual scenes of BDSM and other kinks are unfairly labeled as non-consensual and targeted. This is unfair and threatens the creative liberty and livelihoods of creators who have done nothing wrong or illegal.
Furthermore, your actions have shown that your company willingly complies with the whims of far-right movements such as Collective Shout, which do not speak for everyone. This current situation is centered around adult games. However, I believe it lays a foundation for aforementioned movements to continue to work toward the erasure of any media, and thus creative individuals, that they do not like. After all, LGBTQ+ and minority groups have been unfairly targeted by the delisting of adult games.
I am asking that you contact Steam (Valve), Itch.io, and any other company you have previously put pressure on to retract your content restrictions as well as put in place protections to prevent such restrictions from being put in place in the future without ample warning and time to contest them.
If these changes are not made, I, along with many others will be forced to seek other options for processing payments.
