The hat I’m wearing at TED features a 3D printed bacterial biofilm. It’s a species that lives in soil & is the source of detergent enzymes that allow us to wash our clothes at colder temps =sig energy savings. This microbe deserved to be highlighted at @TEDTalks #TED2019 #scicomm
