There are some things that you never forget: your first vote, passing your driver’s test, and losing your virginity, though not necessarily in that order. Also impossible to forget are stories such as the one a friend of mine told me decades ago about how one of his university professors openly proclaimed his want of acceptance in a way that single-handedly redefined irony, yet without it. Now that fond and indelible memory of mine can be yours with which to amuse and confuse your friends to no living end (I was, quite honestly, beginning to wonder when this recollection might serve a purpose, useful or not).
