I got my new Tanakh in the mail today and I am so excited! It’s very beautiful but I’ll be using it to study and plan on writing in it. I have a simpler one but that was a conversion gift and I can’t imagine writing in something so special.

No local Bnei Noah community? No problem! 🌍 Until we build more physical centers, the key is connection:
1. Join online study groups/Zoom classes. 💻
2. Find a mentor—a sensitive Rabbi or an experienced Noachide—to guide your practice. 🧭
Don't go it alone!

Domesticated Animals of the Exodus The Hebrews of the Exodus would have had cattle, sheep, goats, donkeys, dogs, and birds of various kinds.

My latest Substack post. Just a compilation of animals that the Hebrews of the Exodus would have had. #torahstudy

The Road to Succoth We know the Hebrew’s first stop on their Exodus journey was Succoth.

Another blog post for my middle grade fantasy novel set in the Exodus. Ever wondered where Succoth was or how to get there? Well, now you ... can argue with me about it. #torah #torahstudy #jewish

Scanned handwritten notes from Torah study for Parshat Vayakhel from 5783

Some highlights:

“G*d isn’t here to take everything from you.” - Liana

I love this parsha (heavily underlined)

“Whose heart spun them up in wisdom” - verse 26 (repeating in the Koren translation)

“Spinning and weaving instead of melting. Doing it out of joy instead of fear.” - Mandie

The project model is healthy consent based trauma informed labor, including modeling of not laboring/giving beyond the need and not taking beyond the existing need.

“Moses to G*d: the people are restless.
G*d to Moses: let’s give them a project.” - Adlai

Scanned handwritten notes from Torah study 5783, Parshat Vayakhel with Torah Studio. Highlights:

“Let my people go” is incomplete, is followed by “that they may serve ME” – freedom sought in Torah isn’t individualism. - Rabbi Shai Held

Exodus 35:1-36:7

Bezalel = in the shadow of God.
Oholiab = my father’s tent

“Everyone whose heart moved them”

Moses teaches the rules of Shabbat
+
Bezalel and Oholiab - direction building the Mishkan

Free will offering

Stolen Moments

Todd’s laugh is infectious

Rabbi Akiva - What we make of divine creation is even more beautiful. Midrash Tanchuma Tazria 5:1

Parsha notes of years past for Parshat Vayakhel. My favorite line in this parsha is Exodus 35:26, which speaks of hearts spun up in wisdom. In a world that feels lacking in wisdom, may this Shabbat spin us toward a wisdom that can lead us to collective liberation. #shabbat #parshastudy #torahstudy

Handwritten notes, the parsha “Ki Tisa” surrounded by snippets:

This week in Torah: Jewish impatience and audacity immortalized bovinously and then de-immortalized in mandatory glittery hydration.

“Aaron, my guy. This is not ideal.” (TBF, Moses ghosted everyone a little.)

No one takes accountability, including Hashem

“Crisis of leadership” - Nikkole

“Hashem, slowwww down. I’m sure there’s an explana— OMG I LEFT YOU ALONE FOR FIVE MINUTES.” - Moses

“Golden Calf Goldschlager”

Liana - “ they were dancing to regulate their traumatized nervous systems”

“ Buying the child the toy so they don’t scream in the supermarket“ - Ali
“ after you left them in the supermarket for 40 days” - Liana

Torah study - Ki Tisa with Liana at Torah Studio

This is how I imagine Mosha in this Parsha:
“I leave you down here for five minutes… Months?… Years? OK, but still!“

… talking down Hachem, but then also losing his shit

Chevruta partner: Jay!

* pivotal moment of necessary separation – less direct dependence

Note for later reading: The Sota Ritual

End of portion - Moses’s version of washing mouths out with soap – or – bully making someone eat dirt on the playground

Golden calf - idol or a coping item? Israelite security blanket… made only of earrings, remnants of slavery, at Aaron’s instruction

2nd tablets - more buy-in, Moses more invested

Aaron, what the heck?
- He is described as maybe a lenient parent (Hashem the strict, Moses the moderate)
- Was Aaron also afraid? Wondering if Moshe is returning?

Yeshua asks us to establish a new kind of community—one filled with love, grace, and forgiveness. In this study, we talk about how His mercy goes beyond the law.

🔹 How can we reflect this in our daily lives?

Would you ‘fix’ the Mona Lisa with red lipstick? 🎨 Sounds crazy, right? Yet, we sometimes try to "improve" God’s perfect laws, adding what isn’t needed. Like a masterpiece, they’re timeless and complete. #biblelesson #torahstudy
