That's still helpful, Simon! I am trying to write a skinny version of #TorgEternity #Torg (to be fair, these are my windmills to tilt at!) and I am looking at different mechanics. It's a grab-bag of mechanics that I like so far, and I was torn over the combat mechanics. I'm also a fan of D6 Hack!

I had only two players for my #TorgEternity game today, so I pivoted from my planned adventure and ran “All for a Good Story” by Rachel Savicki instead. With a couple on-the-fly modifications to the two NPCs in the module, the two players were successful and had a fun time too.

Characters also start the game session with three Possibilities, which can be represented with these #TorgEternity -branded tokens or by any other beans you have handy. A player can spend a Possibility to roll an additional d20 and add it to their first roll, and this roll might explode too!
How do PCs do big feats in #TorgEternity? well I can’t go any longer without saying “exploding dice”! The GM sets the difficulty number of a task, which is compared- not to a dice roll- but to your PC’s relevant skill. A d20 is used to generate an add’l bonus! A 10 or 20, roll again & add together!
So a PC in #TorgEternity can be from any of the invading cosms, from Core Earth, *or* born on Core Earth but *transformed* to an invading reality! The party can have a Victorian Occultist, a Cartel Assassin, a Masked Crusader, an Electric Samurai, and a Demon Scholar, or just about anything else!
The inciting event in #TorgEternity is the invasion of this reality by seven other realities, each with its own world laws and limitations. There’s an E.R. Burroughs-style Lost World invading North America, a penny-dreadful Horror reality invading India, and five other genres, all in the same game!
In #TorgEternity, modern-day Earth is more like the world of John McClane & Snake Plisken than it’s like ours; it is rich in something called “Possibility Energy”. Some small % of people are innately able to manipulate this energy and bend reality itself to accomplish great feats; all PCs are such.
So, either the BlueSky search function is not what it should be, or I have found my niche on this app: the esoteric TTRPG Torg Eternity. #torgeternity
