Et John (connu sous le nom Nyan Satan) vient de le montrer brillamment : dans une vidéo YouTube, on peut voir le système d'exploitation d'une Touch Bar démarrer en mode verbose, c'est-à-dire avec des messages de debug affichés à l'écran. C'est probablement un premier pas vers un jailbreak de l'accessoire d'Apple, au moins dans certaines versions. La Touch Bar d'un MacBook Pro. Image MacGeneration. John est déjà l'origine d'une curiosité : il a lancé Doom sur l'adaptateur Lightning vers HDMI d'Apple. Pour la Touch Bar, il explique qu'il s'agit de celle d'un MacBook Pro équipé d'une puce T1, apparue en 2016. Le système sur puce T1 est l'équivalent de la puce S1 des premières Apple Watch, et il anime le système d'exploitation de la Touch Bar, qui communique avec macOS à travers une liaison réseau en USB. Dans les MacBook Pro suivants, la Touch Bar fonctionne avec une puce T2, qui est l'équivalent de l'Apple A10 de certains iPhone, et est plus sécurisée.
