Early evening scene in a cozy City, facing a traffic intersection on a broad avenue with tightly-packed buildings; directly across the street, there used to be many historic hundred year-old six-story brick buildings; all but one have been torn down to make way for a high-rise condominium complex, in which no one can afford to live; however, one of those old buildings remains - the owners will not sell out; this building, still in great condition, has a few graffiti throws on its walls but is generally clean; there is a green, plywood construction fence around the adjacent empty lot, which has been plastered with advertisements; some bare winter trees and scattered piles of stubborn snow line the streets, as buildings start turning on their lights; every neighborhood in this part of town has its own little skyline, together forming a part of the larger skyline of the City; above and in the distance, the clear blue sky has started to fade.

Daytime scene on an avenue of a special City at wintertime, where there is very little traffic because it is morning and this avenue goes one way - away from the centre of the borough; in the evening, traffic can be very heavy here at rush hour, especially when the nearby expressway is blocked or closed; there is a small, dirty, melting snowbank along the sidewalk and there is a standing white and hot pink sign for a laundromat which reads "Lux Laundry - Fast - Easy" and looks as if it has been buried in the snow all month; it has someone's cute tag written on it; the advertised qualities are very much valued in a laundromat but, although the sign is here, the actual business is nowhere to be found; it is a mystery; the street is very salty from the wintry weather; across the street, a city bus waits at the intersection, and some pedestrians begin crossing the street; along with other (literally) small businesses and restaurants, there is decent bodega over there and the guys working there are pretty cool, as is their cat; a mix of old mid-rise and new high-rise residential buildings surround the scene and the sky in the distance is blue with fluffy white clouds.
