There was a time when #Unitarianism & #Universalism were "heretical" #Christian sects. Even centuries ago, mainstream Christian churches did not consider #Unitarians or #Universalists to be real #Christians.
In the #21stCentury, many U*Us are #atheists, #agnostics, or otherwise non-Christian.
Those famous #Unitarians & #Universalists would probably be appalled by what #UnitarianUniversalism has devolved into today.

There was a time when #Unitarians were Christians who did not believe the doctrine of the Trinity, & #Universalists were #Christians who preached "universal salvation", but even before they merged in 1961 they had largely abandoned #Christianity. Many were #atheists or #agnostics by then.
