It's about time. You’ve all kept me waiting; I could hardly sleep with all the commotion downstairs. Far noisier than the last group. At the very least, I hope you didn't leave too much of a mess this time. Confused? What? You think you’re the first to come bashing down my door in the middle of the night? Oh, how I relish this part. You "heroes" always think of yourselves as so special and unique. No, there's been twelve of you. Twelve other groups just like yours have intruded upon my home and disturbed my work. Twelve groups bedecked with artifacts, no doubt, pillaged from ancient sites. Assuredly an act of blasphemy if I had reached out to claim them, as you did. And yet, all you have learned, all your wealth and experience is built on the destruction of others. You've sold your souls piecemeal for the means to defeat me, and yet you long to gain even more power with my demise. That’s always been the story, but of course, you’ll pretend yours is a higher calling. In the end, you’re all the same and this routine has grown tiresome. Twelve groups believed they were on a mission from one "God" or another. Twelve groups, who barely grasped the fundamentals of true magic, but believed themselves masters of arcane secrets. Twelve groups believed they had the right to impose their morality on the world at the end of a sword. So far, I've had twelve sets of test subjects, in the end, used for a greater good than they could ever have hoped to achieve on their blood-soaked crusade. Before we begin, did you count the groups of minions that you undoubtedly cut down without a second thought on your way to me? Twelve. Twelve great bands of "heroes", reduced to shambling servants, ambling aimlessly in the halls of my manor. So tell me "heroes"...what precisely makes you believe you shall be anything other than group thirteen?
