The setting is Vanaspati in Thavnair. The jungle is on fire. Vrtra is lying down but with wings extended, protecting people behind him (unseen). He watches as Final Days beasts (people of Thavnair who have succumbed to despair) claw and bite at him. Peri, a female au ra dressed in a combination of Palaka and other gear, is piercing one beast through the back with her viper weapon (two swords currently connected).
Same general scene, but the Final Days beasts have been killed by Peri. She’s facing Vrtra with one sword raised in the air, in a “to arms”-type pose. He looks down at her.
She knew the agony of needing to end charges’ suffering, the bloodborn she was too late to save.
It’s your duty, Vrtra. Lay your people to rest.
