Two white-faced ibises in non-breeding plumage standing and walking in shallow pond water. One stands on one leg, facing to our right, in profile. The other has its head down and is walking around its beak probing for goodies in the water. The ibises are a very dark brown (but in sunlight, an iridescent green can be seen), have long necks that retract into an S when just standing, and have long thin beaks that curve downwards, and long thin legs for wading. A few water weeds can be seen standing up in the water around them in shades of light green and orange.
TIL: Brits use #Paddling to refer to #Wading. So last time this was used, I posted a coot paddling (as in floating about, moving its legs). This time I did a little dictionary searching and came up with "the action of walking or wading in shallow water, mud, etc."--OED. #BirdOfTheDay
