Mission for the rest of the week is a lot of #modwave and #multi/poly sound design. I’m very much in the mood for some big, lush #drone work, but not necessarily of the sort given to me by the #wavestate. wavestate and I need a little pause because I feel stuck in a corner there.
Soooo I’m looking at Chopin’s Raindrop Prelude as something I want to experiment with on the #wavestate as well.
I know a 61-key keyboard (most likely) will not be optimal to make this happen, *but* given I can shift an individual layer’s register, I might be able to make something happen.
Back on the mountain where I made this video where I tried skis for the first time since childhood! I still suck at skiing but I'm pretty good at the Ski Jam preset on the Korg #WaveStation and #WaveState #synth Norwegians are supposed to be born with skis on their feet lol ⛷️🤣🎶

I also didn’t completely lose the airy strangeness from Layer A quite as much thanks to tamping down the +1.0 dB boost I’d given to Layer B in the setup menu on the #wavestate.
So overall, the changes I made to the patch last night and this morning were definitely the right choices

Took a look at Bach’s Prelude in C Major as a starting point.
Yes, I can make this happen with 61 keys, so that’s a major win.

Learned today that I could comfortably cover Bach’s repertoire with a 61-key keyboard.
Something fun to do with the #wavestate or #opsix?
In considering the wavestate, I could theoretically build a pad layer of choir/orchestra sounds in the proper key, and play the piece over the drone.
You feel unfamiliar eyes on you, but only for fleeting moments. The gaps between those moments have been growing ever longer, and you feel that some part of you knows that eventually those moments will cease to be.
Is that when you will truly cease to exist?

I pushed the wavestate about as far as I think it can go for this odd #darkambient soundscape.
This also was the point where I hit a massive wall with #sounddesign
spot to actually hit that effect is beyond minuscule. Trying to nail it just now on the #wavestate to make sure the playback wasn’t glitched was exceedingly difficult.
Noted though for future performances I guess.
