Crash Bandicoot Could Finally Be Stepping Into Animation To us, it feels weird that Crash Bandicoot has never landed his own animated series. The elongated, bipedal marsupial has existed since 1996, and in that time, Sonic has gotten something like 20 TV shows while he’s received bupkus. His time may be finally coming, however. A small blurb from the website What’s On Netflix reveals the streamer is currently pursuing a Crash cartoon and they’ve enlisted Canadian animation studio Wildbrain to help make it. Wildbrain has worked with video game characters before — Sonic especially; the most recent series Sonic Prime was theirs. For Netflix alone, they’ve also created Ninjago: Dragons Rising, Carmen Sandiego, and an unreleased Minecraft series. It’s unknown why Crash can’t seem to land a cartoon…perhaps it’s related to the up-and-down nature of his own career, which started bright with Naughty Dog handling his first few outings, flamed out once the rights spilled to various third party studios, and bounces back on occasion with things like Toys For Bob’s Crash 4 in 2020.
