#Day365 (Tuesday was 1yr!)

#git #bash, @Ubuntu #wsl, & @VisualStudio installed on my Windows box, #ssh agent started, cloned my #CSharp repo, worked through some of the videos. Productive but mostly setup

I haven't seriously used Windows in years

#Day364 (Mon, 23rd)

~5 hrs working on setting up #CSharp on my #Linux laptop, hoping & searching for any way to get @VisualStudio to work in preparation for @Udemy course someone bought for me; but no cigar. Had to boot up Windows box and install VS there.

#Day363

Spent an hour or two working through the first half of the same section of the #GoLang @Udemy course as I previously worked through (#Day360?). Trying to understand the code for rendering and handlers better and also find my mistake.

Took care of some housekeeping stuff: reorganizing some code files from awhile ago, as well as making some #Erlang and #Prolog repos visible on #github and pulling them to my other computer.

Worked in @Udemy, Building Modern Web Applications in #GoLang; 27+ commits; for some reason it isn't actually rendering the html. I already spent several hours fixing one problem, beginning with print statements.

#Day358 (couple days ago)

Worked a lot on my resume, applied to a bunch of jobs, typed up the first three or so examples from Kernighan and Donovan's The Go Programming Language. (Have since noticed a mistake in my resume, go figure.)

Today I finally finished Louridas' chapter on the #pagerank #algorithm. Only one chapter left in that book.

I also spent an hour or two coding along with a @Udemy course, "Building Modern Web Applications with Go" (#GoLang).

- more #GoLang code from Introducing Go (#GoLang). Read some from Benner's Naming Things and Lourdias' #Algorithms. I know I did more, but this was a few days ago and I've been moving.

Had a coding Meetup related meeting.

Began going through more Introducing Go (#GoLang) book code, typing up, testing and saving to #github.

Spent a good long time undoing a #git mess.

Coded through ch5 of Introducing Go, #GoLang, wrote my first ever implementation if #FizzBuzz, actually before Ingot to the exercise where it tells you to.

Listened again to the first 45m of Hillis' The Pattern on the Stone (so good); thought a good chunk more about my website design, discussing it with 3+ people; went out to get drinks with a good friend from college -

Short todo list for website:

- finish updating reading list and projects
- keep tightening up design, look, feel, content
- find a way to make it reference my #willwritesandcodes tag on Twitter especially (because that's where all 343 days are recorded)

I spent 6+hr updating my website. Still needs a lot more work. But I:
- got rid of some #css & #html bugs that were really bugging me;
- cleaned up some of the text, spacing & ordering;
- updated listed projects.

#Day343 (Thursday?)

On this day I pretty much just read "All About Arrays," in the Computer Science and #Perl Programming volume. I may have listened to Go In Action (#GoLang) or a Go @Udemy Course. The perl essay is all I'm definitely aware of though.

Finished reading @thoughtworks Anthology ch8, "Project Vital Signs." Like ch7, includes some great practices for software development. Read Traub's address in Cohabiting with Computers: "Computer Science: Challenges & Responsibilities"

Spent a long time trying (hours) to get imports and packages to work in #GoLang, reading @StackOverflow, etc. Read most of Kernighan+Pike's ch. on the go tool, all of "The Rise of Worse is Better" in #Unix #UHH (great essay).

Went through the mini-ACT for @Catalyte_io, stretched my brain, surprised myself I still know some algebra. If I can get into this program it could be a real game changer. I put the survey in my calendar as a life milestone to remember.

Spent another 6(?) hrs finishing #TicTacToe in #GoLang. Lots of testing stuff, atomic commits. This version also uses globals, but now that I got it working I figured I would try to tackle reorganizing it w ADTs, interfaces, & packages.

Read ch. on #microperl & "building objects out of arrays" in #perljournal vol, Computer Science & #Perl Programming.

This book is so cool. Such a treasure trove of information. We could definitely do w/ more like it for other languages.

Listened for 1hr+ to Hillis' The Pattern On the Stone, great book so far. Reviewed some of my #Cpp #TicTacToe code's overall design (how to make this latest version simpler).

Honestly pretty sure I did more
