I have a small greenhouse that houses my tropical bonsai trees, so it stays about 80° and around 90% humidity. When its cold like this, if I briefly open the doors on both ends and let a little of the cold air in, this happens. Pics dont really do it justice. #YayScience

Oh my gosh the cat model is soooo cute! He's definitely got that orange single braincell face 😹 So we know that orange cats are usually male, and this article is a fascinating look at a reason that isn't (maybe) related to sex genes.
So if you don't really feel like chipping away at that wall of text, I left the website and such in the frame! I'll paraphrase, badly; there's a "mechanic" near a gene that's been identified before but not connected (by science until now) to pigment (like in the fur), and that specific mechanic that can activate the orange coat doesn't have anything to do with the sex of the cat. It's cool!! I really like the part about how oranges are increasing!! They're coming!! Flee with your SICs! Protect your Tuxedos!

My first Observatory! I started at MGIO in 1989. Mostly I schlepped concrete cores from VATT & SMT to labs in Tucson, made blueprint copies (the old way, ha, so stinky), and did all the scut work an engineering aide does. It was exciting to know these amazing scopes would be the result! #YayScience
