These pilots inflate and launch in the predawn timeframe to check for winds aloft beyond what the weather people are saying. As they lift off and use their burners to gain altitude the balloons blink and glow as they rise giving the spectator a beautiful twinkling experience. This particular dawn patrol was from back in October 2010. AIBF happens every year in October, if given the opportunity you should go, its truly magical.
Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is happening this week. Balloons and pilots from around the world take over our skies with these amazing works of art. Today is day 4 with a green flag, the skies will be full shortly.
