I was browsing through the #aphant hashtag and found your post today :)
I also found out today that it's common among aphants to skip the long winded descriptive passages. I do still read a bunch of fantasy though.
I quite liked the article linked from this post, which is where I found that.
"Hyperphantasia is the ability to see clear mental imagery (to see in pictures). This is often very detailed and can include the ability to feel, smell or hear what is being thought of. Aphantasia is the inability to see in pictures, where the person tends to think in words instead. If there are some mental images then they tend to be less vivid. This also makes it hard to recall memories."

As an #aphant, the fantasy genre is rough for me to connect with. The more complex the worldbuilding, the more blank the space in my mind. I've been experimenting with different fantasy work paired with amazing narrators these past few months with mixed results but #SuzyJackson is an amazing reader.
