Presented here is a black-and-white photograph, taken at Fort Tilden, gateway national recreation area in Queens. The ruins of a former army base on the beach of the southside of the Rockaways Peninsula. Decommissioned in the 1970, it fell into disrepair and squalor. Ultimately ravaged by Superstorm Sandy in 2012, not much has remained since.
