PAGE 7 of 8 --- Apep opens his mouth to reveal his serpentine black tongue and elongated, viper-like fangs, as he fades into the dark void. Apep: "Until then..." "I have nothing but time..." "And I will wait..." "For the perfect moment to strike." Atum, after a beat of silence from Apep's departure: "...Then so be it."
PAGE 8 of 8 (Final page) --- Atum channels his magic into the pool of his scrying bowl. As he touches the reflective, liquid surface, it reveals images of the various deities in the Egyptian pantheon (which includes earlier artwork that I've drawn of the cast, in a collage-type display). Atum: "All-the-gods-willing, I will not be the one to fall... and nor will my brethren." "Even if it means we have a struggle ahead of us... I have the utmost faith in my entire pantheon." "And soon, so will they all." The last panel ends on a 'title card' reveal / drop, with the logo for "Deities of Duat."
[2/2] I’d let the comic speak for itself, but I should clarify: the giant snake is Apep, the glowing deity is Atum -- both primordial beings of Ancient Egypt w/ opposing views regarding their world.

This comic features the giant demonic serpent Apep, taunting the All-father of the gods, Atum in a dark, void-like space. --- Atum sits on the pyramid-like benben mound, encasing himself in a glowing, protective bubble. Meanwhile, the dark serpentine form of Apep make his appearance and shifts around Atum. Apep appears as giant, demonic, black snake with red markings and glowing red eyes. Apep: "All father... humor me this once." "I have a few questions for you. Perhaps you'll be willing to enlighten me."
PAGE 2 of 8 --- Apep slithers around and above Atum within the darkness, hissing tauntingly: "How long must your gods continue to fight me... knowing that none can truly defeat me?" "How long do they believe they can prevent the spread of chaos... knowing that I strengthen with each passing dynasty?"
PAGE 3 of 8 --- Apep continues to taunt Atum and loom near the god's resting place, even as Atum focuses on his scrying bowl. At one point, Apep draws close enough to flit out his tongue near the protective ward around Atum: Apep: "How do they hold faith in their own power... knowing that they're losing the faith of their followers?" "Their dependance on mortals is becoming their weakness. It crippled them... and makes them vulnerable..." "While I and my kin grow more powerful each day."
