In the workshop’s blackened stillness,
where the shadows gathered
like listeners at a funeral,
even the sawdust held its breath.
This #auger doesn’t #augur well;
each shudder feels like a prophecy
resisting translation,
and the omens agree:
it’s nigh time to replace
that damned auger.

The #birdbath on the patio at Mom’s house attracted raccoons, which didn’t #augur well for the birds. When a raccoon with babies clinging to her tried to get on the birdbath it came off the pedestal & broke in half. It was never replaced. No more raccoons or birds now.
