A photograph of an old aircraft in the air, flying towards and past the viewpoint. It is built of struts and canvas; a triplane with a single propellor at the front of the fuselage. It is crewed by a single pilot, exposed to the elements. It is an Avro IV triplane. The original flew in 1910, but this is a replica built for the 1965 movie 'Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines'. Behind it, also airborne, is a sleek, twin engined monoplane. It is another Avro aircraft, an Anson. The type first flew in 1935, but this particular one was built in 1946. Both aircraft were displaying together (with a third Avro, a 504k) at the Old Warden summer airshow, hosted by the Shuttleworth Collection.
