Spring Star - Blue flowers
(Ipheion uniflorum) Also known as 'Triteleia'. This 'set and forget' perennial flowering bulb has masses of lightly scented pale blue star-shaped six-petalled flowers, with bee-yellow centres, that dance on 15cm stalks above a strappy rich green foliage. They begin to bloom from Australia’s late winter to early spring, when the first scent of jasmine starts drifting through the air.
…And when we got back from ‘messing about in boats’ to plant #LeafyGreens from that sweet little nursery we found along the way, we saw it. The first of the small #SpringStar #BlueFlower bulbs had burst into bloom. We settled in, admiring its ethereal #blues with a nice cup of tea, happy to be home.
