This would make me want to panic, and probably does him, too, but you wouldn't guess it. It's what makes this such an interesting performance. He is asked repeatedly, are you a cop, you sound like a cop, you look like a cop. And this kind of repeated, pointed questioning, by a police chief, no less, would make anyone uncomfortable, but I think Marcelo looks cool as a cucumber, and maybe like he wanted this to happen. We are totally aware that he's not ignorant of the danger or totally comfortable, but to anyone else's eyes, who didn't have his context in the front of their minds, he would look very normal-acting and almost blase. It's perfect. It's tense as fuck, too! But in a way that's different. Usually, actors are selling the nervousness to the audience, whom the films assume are stupid, and ignoring the fact that the interrogator would absolutely see them. This is the opposite, and it's so much better, and way more tense.
"No, I'm really not a cop, and I'm not bothered to be asked for the third or fourth time, either. I've got all day, Chief." This is an awesome and exciting performance, for my money.
... Marcelo appears perfectly normal to the chief (does not act detectably uncomfortable or ill-at-ease), but also signals in very minor ways what only someone watching closely w/ context would sense to be nervousness/energy/intensity.
