As soon as I collapse on a sofa, dogs appear and nestle in, no matter how hot it is!! Closest is my very own white Chihuahua-Maltese mix, Fanny. End of sofa is this week’s sweet boarder, Archie. Trigger is out of sight puffing & chuffing at passers-by outside the windows. To stay cool but protected from the 🌞 and fully-pocketed for keys, treats, phone and poop bags, I wear ripstop cargo shorts (gray here) and men’s ripstop fishing shirts—today an ocean green-teal? Bright so dogs can see me!
Today at the barn Archie the white with gray ears Maltipoo (?) caught me off guard and sprang into my lap as I took a quick training break. Took all week but he finally took a shine to the red Voyager harness and red studded collar that Fanny picked from her extensive wardrobe for his stay this week. You can tell I’m American—for good or bad—by the always-present baseball cap. I’ll be 59 soon and I wear caps and shades and earphones daily but makeup no more! Honestly, for some of us there’s just no reason. Rare perk of getting older and growing more comfortable in your own skin. Also functions in a pinch as very effective “Man Repellent.” Working exclusively with non-judgy dogs helps, too. 🤣
As a full time petsitter, I may work every day of the week, month…year! But Friday STILL feels just as good as when I worked more boring—I mean conventional—jobs.☺️
