A watercolour painting of a two-masted schooner. The boat is sailing away from the viewer, across a placid bay. On her mizzen mast flies a Canadian flag. The atmosphere of the painting is calm and peaceful.

Complete covering of teak decking over the forward section of a wooden model sailboat.
I finished the teak planking on the foredeck. When I finish the aft section, I will lightly sand it. And when the boat is complete, I will oil it.

My de facto bio of Senator William H. Dennis - who founded the Int'l Fishermen's Cup (for which the #Bluenose was built) - has been getting some hits lately. As it happens, article recently updated: www.ashleynewall.ca/2021/03/sen-...
4.5 hours worth of work later and only 20 planks laid. I have most of the foredeck teak planks down. The planks along the inside gunwales are all unique cuts and sanding to fit the curve of the bow to midships section.

Been working on this across 5 states and 25+ years. One day it will be completed.

#Lunenburg, #NovaScotia one of Atlantic #Canada’s #UNESCO gems.
The village is beautifully located seaside, historically preserved and home of Canada’s famous #Bluenose schooner featured on our ten cent coin.
#Locke&Key, #TheSinner, #WashingtonBlack are just a few tv/films done in this town.

We've made the difficult decision to cancel our trip to Gloucester, Massachusetts in early September for the Gloucester Schooner Festival. Lunenburg and Gloucester share a storied history and a special bond. We're disappointed to miss this event, but we look forward to visiting our sister city again soon. With so many Canadians travelling within the country this year, we're turning our focus to Nova Scotia's busy tourism season, supporting the communities we'll be visiting and sharing our slice of Canadian history. We are working on adjusting our schedule and confirming dock space in southwest Nova Scotia. We will be posting more details as soon as we can.
Nova Scotia’s famous Bluenose schooner decides to stay close to home this summer and not attend an annual festival in the US.
Nice.
