‘I’d have preferred to do the POLITICS UNMASKED comic,’ Aimil remarked. ‘Shame the Bristolians got it.’
Yoko shrugged, now swivelling on his chair. ‘I like PRIORITIES. The people’s faces at the clash could get angrier and the ones of the politicians dumber.’
Peadrus nodded. ‘I actually prefer our comic. POLITICS UNMASKED is one big reminder of how much nonsense we’ve already suffered worldwide thanks to bloody useless politicians. PRIORITIES is all about saying: We’ve had enough! We don’t play along any more!’
Brenda smiled. ‘I love the general strike bit: everyone out on the streets, demanding time to think so everyone can be part of reshaping the world. But what if one of the characters, maybe Faolan, suddenly realises that they don’t have to wait for the government to react? The demonstrators can use the time at general strike to think together, to identify everything that makes them weak and powerless, everything that kills their health and happiness, and to come up with plans to reluctantly but resolutely transform their lives and the systems that screw with them.’
Yoko clapped. ‘Reluctantly! I like that. Reluctantly they stop using fossil fuels and plastic—’
Conall interrupted. ‘—I can see it! No one wants it, but since they finally got the time to think, they say something like: This could hurt, but if we go about it clever like, work hand in hand, help each other out, we can do it! And then our air will be breathable again, nature might bounce back, and if we’re extremely lucky temperatures might normalise.’
‘I love it!’ Tocall said. ‘Let’s get working and let’s give our rebels the plans for real change! Reluctant but resolutely. Love! It!’
