Kind of sad, but this sounds an awful lot like #TorontoDanforth.

It's the only way to explain to constituents why we'd cancel a protected cycling infrastructure project South of Danforth Av and cancel prioritizing the safety of vulnerable road users North of Danforth Av.

It is unfortunate that this type of cultural placemaking wasn’t already baked into the plans.

The #LittleJamaica neighbourhood has been a forgotten footnote in so much of Toronto past & hasn’t been at the table for the present or future.

Incredible that Councillor Holyday continues to fight against transit at every opportunity, despite proof that better transit reduces congestion and improves social outcomes. #TOpoli #BudgetTO #toronto

Given today's Toronto City Council meeting and final vote to decide the 2026 Budget, folks may appreciate this evening's explainer on how it's crafted but not necessarily understandable.

Once again, Ass Assford is clueless about the budget. Not just on reserve funds, but also on the tired Ford/Tory trope of limiting property tax hikes to inflation. He needs to be challenged on what he would sacrifice to do this. Service cuts? Higher TTC fares? User fee hikes? #TOpoli #BudgetTO

Appreciate having @mayoroliviachow.ca on this evening’s #BudgetTO Town Hall for #TorontoDanforth

Disappointed but not at all surprised that all questions were answered…except mine. Prioritizing the safety of vulnerable road users! Again disappointed but not surprised. #BikeTO #VisionZero

On my way home from the #BudgetTO town hall, I checked out the new Esplanade #BikeTO lanes from Market to Scott. While it's great people are using them already, the pavement quality is poor and there is a potential conflict area just east of Scott which needs some sorting out to do. #TOpoli

Before the small table discussions, the #BudgetTO presentation showed what Toronto did since Chow took office, as well as dropped a Taylor Swift reference. While her six Eras Tour shows generated almost $300M, the City only got back about $300K of it! This is why Toronto needs revenue tools! #TOpoli

It was a full house at tonight's Toronto budget town hall at St Lawrence Market North Building! While affordable housing & transit were obviously among the top priorities, a couple of newer ones emerged including "doing unsexy work" of repairing buildings and climate action. #TOpoli #BudgetTO

Matt Elliott: How the popping of the condo bubble led to a looming budget crisis in Toronto Toronto’s condo boom finally going bust isn’t just a concern for developers and investors. The collapse is also causing major financial woes for the city.

An interesting column by @graphicmatt.com on the condo crash's potential impact on Toronto's budget (specifically development charges). However, what also needs to be noted is the increased calls by multiple stakeholders to reduce them further. 🤔 #TOpoli #BudgetTO www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...
