green and blue are on the wrong axis! AND the gradients are in RGB but what can ya do...

there are a lot of bad diagrams for lab space but I think this is the worst one I've seen yet

color swatches and gradients

lab space at 100% lightness

darkening off-whites in cielab vs rgb. Much more chroma in midtones. Labs inherent blue bias is very apparent in the middle swatches. the whites bleed into the blue side a lot more than the yellow side, and there are some offwhites that have a maxed out blue level
