Your decision to pull out as a sponsor of Toronto Pride is nothing short of disgraceful. It is cowardly, calculated, and dripping with hypocrisy. Let me be absolutely clear: you have not only turned your back on the 2SLGBTQIA+ community - you have turned your back on Canada itself.
For decades, Tim Hortons has claimed to be a proud symbol of Canadian identity. You have built your entire brand on the idea that you are "one of us" - something familiar, something safe, something rooted in Canadian values. But let us get one thing straight: you no longer get to claim that identity. You do not get to wrap yourself in the Canadian flag while actively betraying the people who make this country what it is. The minute you chose corporate appeasement and bigotry over equity and inclusion; you lost the right to call yourself a Canadian company.
This is not neutrality โ this is complicity.
You did not just withdraw from a sponsorship. You sent a message loud and clear to queer Canadians that our identities, our safety, our love, our humanity are not worth standing up for when it becomes "inconvenient." That when pressure comes from the loudest bigots in the room, you fold. That when it comes to inclusion, you will only show up when it benefits your bottom line. You chose cowardice over courage. And no amount of PR spin or meaningless rainbow donut campaigns will erase that.
