Celastrus scandens, American bittersweet, full of fruit and climbing a leafless tree

#Celastrus scandens, our native bittersweet, nice and heavy with those exposed arils. Most bittersweet we see ‘round here is the invasive C. orbiculatus… but I’m always gonna pull over when I see these terminal fruit clusters (orbiculatus are in the leaf axils). #iamabotanist #Celastraceae
