The entrance to Packet Boat Marina is from the Slough Arm. Cottonwool clouds reflect in the water, rippled by a coot.

A solitary fisherman at Cowley Peachey junction. A couple take control of their dog as they pass by. The footbridge, reflected in the water, connects the towpath of the canal to the Slough Arm on the left.

On the left of this photo is the entrance to an ancient dock, now disused, at Packetboat Lane; a bridge takes the tow path over it. On the right is Highline Yachting boatyard. Purple Haze is the boat moored nearest to us. A stray mallow brightens the towpath in the foreground while in the far distance is a girder footbridge across the canal for the Slough arm. We'll come to that later.

The boat from the previous photo has just left Denham Deep Lock and is making good speed south, into a patch of sun. Ripples and glints on the water.

The canal passes over Fray's river here, resulting in a deeper lock than usual, with an 11 foot drop, the deepest lock on the Grand Union. Fray's river powered 6 mills.
