Colorectal cancer is now the leading cause of cancer death in people under 50 Overall, cancer death rates in people younger than 50 have dropped by 44% since 1990. Only colorectal cancer deaths have increased.

Half of the people diagnosed under 50 are aged 45 to 49, so it's recommended to get screened by age 45 or sooner.
