In 1971, my dad, John Blankenbaker, invented what is considered the first commercially available personal computer, the Kenbak-1. A Kenbak-1 machine owned by Paul Allen of Microsoft sold today at auction for close to $120,000.
If any of my friends are interested in learning more about the story of the Kenbak-1, or how my dad built it in our garage on Leven Lane, he is still open to talk about it. At 94, he is slowing down a bit, so you might want to reach out to him before he turns 95 in December.
Signal boosting a post from one of my friends on Another Site, bc I know there may be some interested parties here. I'm happy to connect you if so. #computersky #computinghistory
