That's, of course, Kelvin Sampson, the head coach of my University of Houston Cougars, whom I covered both as a cub sports reporter at the University of Houston newspaper (before Sampson's time), and as a reporter and editor for Houston Community Newspapers, and, later, The Houston Chronicle. He's one of my favorite people in the world, and I say often that I wish he were my real dad, and I do!
