Dance Leader Jamie Montwill has been looking forward to #DSEnvironmentWeek!
He planted a sunflower a few weeks ago & is enjoying watching it grow. Dancing with Donna & Lucie, this inspired some dance movements in our nature poetry session this week 💚 🌱
Dance Leader Lucie White has been really excited about #DSEnvironmentWeek because she was already passionate about environmental issues. She has been busy in her garden this week, using rain water to water her plants and spotting pollinators, like bees, butterflies and this beautiful dragonfly! 💚 🌱
Yesterday, as part of #DSEnvironmentWeek, #TeamDS watched Sima Gonsai's short film ‘Cultivate’ which uses dance to raise issues about the importance of good soil health & sustainable farming practises. We then asked Sima questions about developing and making dance films. We learned a lot! 🌱
Yesterday #TeamDS were joined by inclusive Arts practitioner @ClaireBeerjeraz who worked with us to develop poems about nature, before creating dance movements to the poetry. This was the first time we have blended poetry & dance and there were some incredibly beautiful moments.

To celebrate #DSEnvironmentWeek DanceSyndrome Dance Leader Ellie Bamber has brought a box of freshly picked vegetables to our dance session in Preston today. She wanted to show the other Dance Leaders how fabulous locally grown vegetables are! They look delicious! Thanks for sharing them Ellie 🌱
#TeamDS love to dance outdoors & be inspired by nature, so #DSEnvironmentWeek was a great opportunity to go to Miller & Avenham Park to find some inspiration for our movements.

What a fun session in #Accrington today! To celebrate #DSEnvironmentWeek participants worked together to make dances using twigs and sticks from a fallen tree. They loved the theme & thinking about the planet while dancing!

#TeamDS met in Miller & Avenham Park today to do some litter picking & dancing for #DSEnvironmentWeek. It was lovely to hear members of the public saying "thank you" for their hard work💚
