March 5th is #CornwallDay, so we're resharing the opportunity to see St Michael's Mount on #DiggingforBritain.
A team from Durham University and the National Trust were searching for evidence of Bronze Age tin processing on the island.

With every news story a fresh nightmare, I watched #DiggingForBritain, and the the beautiful burial of the Iron Age dog nearly made me greet. The fact it had been loved and cared for - even recovering from a serious leg break - gives me hope.

Here's a link to the #DiggingForBritain episode with a possible Anglo Saxon malthouse. They found (no idea how much) carbonised "sprouted" grain and evidence of an oven/kiln. They refer to "a very hot kiln" but, as maltsters know, gentle heat is needed to dry malt. 🏺🍺
