History associations/groups/historians should not post uncited historic photos on Twitter. It means no one can fact check the caption you give an image or research for themselves which can perpetuate #DuffHistory don’t @ me because I don’t care if you disagree. I’m just saying.

It just shouldn’t be reproduced without a qualifier. Surely it’s just as dramatic to talk about the horrendous impact of war on the memories and recollections of very young men without feeling the need to take it as gospel and in doing so creating #DuffHistory

Still on THAT book but a bit more of a cautionary tale now. I just read 2nd East Yorks were apparently ‘butchered’ on D-day. ‘Hundreds of corpses’ were lying in the shallows. This is I’m afraid true #DuffHistory. 1/
