is #EESSI rebranding of #EasyBuild? I used EasyBuild a long time ago and remember there were talks of #EasyBuild and #Spack merging, since they were both solving the same thing? Don't know what happened though in the end. Is there a comparison which should be used when?
Brief history:
2008: #EasyBuild dev begins at #UGent, simplifying complex builds and delivering fast scientific software stacks.
2012: #EasyBuild goes open-source, transforming software deployment for #HPC
2020: #EESSI launched, pioneering a shared stack of scientific software with a uniform UX
Looking into @nextflow.io for our Slurm cluster. Using easybuild.io of course to build/install it. Why change from nextflow-<VERSION>-all to nextflow-<VERSION>-dist for the name of the package/java-binary without any changelog?
