This is a patch release with some notable improvements:
* Python 3.14 support
* Better error messages for missing/deprecated versions

This is big: #Spack has reached 1.0.
Spack is (effectively) a distro-indepenedent package manager specifically for #HPC clusters. We've been evaluating it for years and we're most likely going to use it for our next machine.

is #EESSI rebranding of #EasyBuild? I used EasyBuild a long time ago and remember there were talks of #EasyBuild and #Spack merging, since they were both solving the same thing? Don't know what happened though in the end. Is there a comparison which should be used when?

It looks like wrf and wps are already part of #spack.
May look into adding wrfda if I have the time.
Maybe you would like to contribute that to #spack or #singularity. I have just used WRF and it does need a lot of dependencies - not sure about WRFDA.
