A photograph of two cows in a field. The mama cow is black and white and she is facing the camera, head towards her baby. The calf, all black except for its face, stands close to its mum. It had just been born about a half hour prior and its umbilical cord is still hanging down.
A photograph of two meadow brown butterflies on a purple thistle. The two butterflies are mating so their abdomens are connected to each as they balance on the flower. Their underwings are brown with a lighter band in the top half. Their upper wings have more orange with a dot at the tips. There is a Rhagonycha fulva (red soldier beetle) under the flower, trying to ignore what is happening.
A photograph of two five-spot burnet moths. They are black with bright red spots on their wings. Their abdomens are connected and they are balanced on a thistle. They, too, have company. This time a swollen-legged beetle (Oedemera nobilis), very green, is really trying to ignore their antics.
A photograph of two woundwort shieldbugs on a nettle leaf. They are mating so joined at the back, facing away from each other. They are sort of oval shaped, brown with some white spots, more going towards the front. They have a metallic deep red patch in the middle.
And I’m gonna tag on some notbirds for TwosDay - cows, meadow browns (Maniola jurtina), 5-spot burnets (Zygaena sp) and woundwort shieldbugs(Eysarcorus venustissimus)
