On a raft in a body of murky water are several alligators dog-piled on top of each other. There are possibly five visible, but could be more. There is a branch in the upper left that is in front of the raft so covers up a bit of the gator pile.

Some horizontally prone #alligators in Florida. It was, apparently "cold" that day, so they told us; we thought it was perfect.

Purple Gallinule ~ 13 in., also has feathers of deep blue, turquoise, green. Walking very slowly in the shallow water. During dry season.

Florida swamp-lily, bloom ~ 7 in. across, a member of the onion family. Can be seen all year, to varying degrees. This one in the dry season.

Pied-billed Grebe (I think), looking over its shoulder. So cute to watch; almost looks furry rather than feathery! ~ 13.5 in. Seen in dry season.

The wetlands of #Everglades –
considered by many to be earth’s slowest #flowing river.
So much wild, lovely life can be seen here!
