It is sneaking into a church lit green by foxfire candles. Mr Cards looks very pleased with itself. Behind, the Bishop of St Fiacre stands, with an insect larva head, staring at the candles. "They call me 'Mr Cards,' of course because I creep into church and leave trade cards in the hymn books where you are not strictly supposed to to get Proscribed Material (4,643) so that I can pay Homage to the paper-man and Connected: The Masters of the Bazaar is Increasing..." Another horrid Fallen London collage. Mr Cards is exchanging poorly photocollaged Partial Maps for a Searing Enigma. The Salty Fabulist says "... everything I've ever told you was a lie. Except this. Mr Spices, Mr Iron, the rest, aren't the Masters of the Bazaar. They're its pets." Mr Cards' brow is furrowed in thought. It is imagining a scene in the High Wilderness where it is flying through space. It is wearing a collar, whose retractable leash is held in the claws of a space crab who has the Tower of Pisa, the Seattle Space Needle, and the Fire Island Lighthouse on its back. Two pigs with rocket exhausts are providing its movement. Mr Cards is wistful but incredulous about the idea.

Three outfits for the Poetess: scholarly (a white blouse with wide sleeves and blue details, a brown skirt with lines, and brown leather boots with bright orange laces and sole. The back of this outfit is also shown. The poetess has her fingers stained with indigo ink.); honey-dreams (a brown off-shoulder striped dress with leather clincher and ankle boots); business (emerald green top with a shoulder cape, dark navy pants tucked into black striped socks and flat leather shoes with an emerald sole).

Enjoyable, and engaging, often funny, clevery written. You should do more.
