The roll was almost over when the film decided to split the world in half. Only a fragment of a frame remained, but instead of ending cleanly, it folded time and let Anna appear twice— once as herself, and once as the echo she left behind. The river didn’t choose between them. It simply carried both versions downstream, as if double exposure were the most natural way for a person to exist.
